Top ten places I would like to go to in 2008:
- Toronto
- Chicago
- Portland
- Seoul
- Pittsburgh
- Vancouver
- Berlin
- New York
- Shenzhen (you just know this one won’t happen)
- Washington, DC
I’ve been to a few of these already, although except for Chicago it was either a long time ago or for a very short stay (Toronto, NYC, Vancouver). Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and London almost made the list, but I wanted to keep it at ten cities so something had to give.
At this point I think Toronto is a sure shot, and Chicago, NYC, DC and Pittsburgh all seem pretty likely — say two out of those four. We’ll see how well we’ve done a year from now.
What say you?

How do you know when someone truly cares? Well, in my case it’s when they get you a book about Roadside coffee shop architecture of the 50’s in the Los Angeles area. It is just so appropriate — it’s pretty cool that she found something I wouldn’t even have thought to ask for.

So the new Lupe Fiasco is out today. I’ve been listening to it since I got in the office, and wow — for me it does it again.

The nine dead at Westroads mall in Omaha, NE, and their families.
Exactly 13 months ago, I was there enjoying the ‘community days’ clearances. For the 3 months I lived in Omaha, a few minutes east of Westroads, I was there roughly twice a week.
I feel sad, angry and a little scared for what happened today. I was going to say ‘it could happen here too’, but the fact is it has: Kimveer Gill at Dawson College, downtown Montreal, September 2006 — my boss’ daughter was there, she’s okay but apparently she was pretty shook up.
So here goes. Let there be peace for those who weren’t so lucky, joy again for their families, and safety for all of us, everywhere.
